Pure Randomness: Is it over yet?

...Not quite yet, but almost!!! This is probably the number one question that college students are secretly asking themselves right about now.
It happens every semester: professors assign larger than life assignments, most of which require long presentations or papers (God forbid they require both!), and they are all due the same week. After completing 3 presentations each accompanied by a paper, staying up until 6:30 a.m. to finish a paper (no sleep!!!) and going to class 2 hours later, I am looking forward to the end of the semester. I am also looking forward to the beginning of my final semester. Which is more exciting? I can't decide.
Its extremely tiring, but after its all done you get to bask in feelings of triumph. Congrats! You have survived another semester!!!

Entertainment: "Katt Williams Dies In Plane Crash" Rumor

Okay, so I'm sitting at breakfast this morning and I recieve a text message saying that comedian, Katt Williams was killed in a plane crash at 4 a.m. this morning. It was one of those "chain messages". I turned on the tv to see if there was anything on about it. BET- nothing. MTV-nothing. CNN-nothing. I then tried the internet: Yahoo, MSN, Google, and a few entertainment sites-nothing. For those of you who are wondering, it is not true. That just goes to show, you should not believe everything you recieve, even if your friends and family sent it.

Random Quote....

Watch your thoughts, for they become words
Watch your words, for they become actions
Watch your actions, for they become habits,
Watch your habits, for they become character
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny...

Shoot for the moon and hope to land on a star....Or at least beside one. :)

"No." It's the word that so many people dread hearing when asking for something they really want. Then again, it could be the word you're glad you heard. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet singer/writer/producer/actor (long list huh?) Montell Jordan. Being a journalism major, I decided to ask for an interview. I expected to hear no, but surprisingly I got a yes. (Yay!) This stuff doesn't happen to me. (Not Kam!) The interview was scheduled for Sept. 20, 2008 which also happened to be the same day he was giving a free concert for Gift Fest 08, in Columbia, Tennessee. To make a long story short, I did not get my interview due to his tight schedule. However, I did get to work his merchandising table while he signed autographs after his concert. I never realized how hectic a celeb's life is until I got to see it from behind the scenes. Television doesn't show you the half of it!

Although I didn't get the interview that I so badly wanted, I did get the opportunity to work with him and experience something that I otherwise would not have. (Oh, I got pictures and an autograph and all that good stuff too.) The bottom line is, "No" is the word that kept me away from the dreaded question of "What if?" If I didn't ask, I would probably still be wondering "What would have happened if I had asked?" So the next time you want something, ask for it. Especially if "no" is the worst they can tell you.

Random Quote for Random Thoughts...

Just a random quote to provoke some random thought. :)

In the words of Marilyn Monroe...

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
